Today, businesses can take advantage of database administration services. These are specific organizations that specialize in helping businesses manage their databases. This ensures that their databases are as secure as they possibly can be and running as efficiently as they possibly can be. They are also instrumental in cutting costs for businesses.
Remove the need for internal database staff
Database specialists are no cheap hire. They require a business investment in human resources to source a suitably qualified one. They are not easy to find. And if they leave, the process must be repeated.
Even with an internal database staff hire, they do not work 24×7. If your infrastructure is required to be live all the time, more than one hire will be required in case there are any system problems. This can prove extremely costly.
Database administration services provide experienced and certified database staff 24×7. With locations across the globe, there will always be a staff member ready to cater to whatever their client’s database needs may be.
If businesses still require database staff internally, outsourcing database administration will drastically reduce the number of staff required. It allows internal staff to focus on new projects. It frees them from the mundane tasks of day-to-day database administration, constant monitoring, and backup duties.
Reduce disaster and recovery costs with pro-active database administration
Database administration service providers have only one main focus in their core business: databases. They live and breathe databases.
They know what the best security is and they know how to implement it to protect business data. They know where to look for vulnerabilities in data. They know how to backup databases in the best way so when things go wrong data can be restored quickly.
Their proactive approach to databases means they will catch many problems before they happen. Downtime costs businesses money in lost revenue and brand reputation.
Ensure your database is running in the most efficient way possible
With specialised skills available at their fingertips, businesses can benefit from consulting and optimisation services. These are provided by expert staff who have experience across a vast number of industries and database technologies.
If businesses need to make modifications to an existing database or create a new database entirely, database administration services bring their expert skills to the table to design the most efficient database possible.
Database administration services can also analyse existing business databases to ensure they are indexed properly for maximum speed and data efficiency. If businesses are unsure about the quality of existing database programming, they can ask to have it reviewed. This ensures that it’s doing what it’s supposed to be doing, and that it is coded in the most efficient way possible.
Having a sound database design that is optimized means business infrastructure is not only the fastest it can be but also, the most reliable it can be. The benefits of this include a reduction in downtime and a reduction in development costs for future enhancements.
Subject matter experts ensure that with the growth of a business, databases have the space and capacity to grow. They map out a plan for businesses to eliminate possible future roadblocks.
With a more reliable IT infrastructure, customers and clients are happier. This can lead to an increase in revenue, brand appeal, and business growth. Want to explore ways to cut costs in database administration? Contact Everconnect today to see how they can help your business.

I feel overwhelmed, guys! I knew I had a long and tough road ahead but having your own business is no joke…
Since our database is located at a different location we didn’t have internal staff at all and instead hired a company for this. Our database is optimized and secure with no unplanned downtime in over 8 years.
Unfortunately, we’ve been hit hard over the past year. We have to cut down our losses but with a huge database and daily updates I think we need to be very strategic about this. My gamble will be to keep the DBA and see if we can make do without our junior DBA for a while.
Very valuable insights! We didn’t have a very happy start as we relied on a very unprofessional team that instead of delivering what we agreed upon went on posting deadlines further and further and as a result our IT department was a mess which ended up costing us a lot of money.
We had to let go of our previous DB providers after they allowed two security breaches in less than two months, all while charging us a LOT!
Working with remote DBA(s) translated into way better ROI and overall performance for us.
Nice article, you really opened up a few issues there. Cheers!
Same here! We thought having our own team was the right solution for us but a quick cost-effectiveness analysis proved otherwise.
